Muhammad Nawaz is a development leader with 30 years of experience in water resources management, agriculture, and climate resilience. He served with USAID Mission Pakistan from 2011 to 2025 as Senior Water Advisor, Mission Environment Officer and Climate Integration Lead, managing water sector investments and climate integration. Earlier, he worked as a Senior Public Policy Analyst (Water) at the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiative (2007-11) and as a Water Management Officer with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (1996-2007). His work has supported hundreds of thousands of farmers, advanced climate-resilient water systems, and contributed to international and national water, climate and agriculture policies. He holds a Master’s in Water Resources Management from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Engineering from UET Peshawar, along with extensive international training and professional recognition, including inclusion on UET Peshawar’s Wall of Fame in 2022.
